Feeling Better!

Well it’s been about 2 weeks since I last posted.  I had hit a goal of 245lbs last week.  That’s a total of nearly 7lbs lost.  Then hit Easter…Well it wasn’t pretty but I am DETERMINED to get below 235lbs by the end of this challenge!  We are halfway through already!  WHEW!!

I have been exercising 5-6 days a week.  I always try to get in my 3 mile walk with Leslie Sansone on those days.  Then I will either add in Zumba, Core n More, Yoga, or something else at Studio 356.  I also will use the elliptical at my house or Total Gym we have as well.

My workouts tend to be about 45 minutes for cardio.  And I try to do 30 minutes of Strength 2-3x a week.  I haven’t been able to always get the strength in but I always try to get the cardio in for the day.  I do take 1 day off to recuperate.  My body needs that as I am still nursing and Cordelia wakes up in the night still.  (I can’t wait for that to cease)

So in the beginning of this challenge, I was getting very, VERY winded.  I had no stamina whatsoever.  Now, 5 weeks later, I can do my 3-mile walk and actually hold a conversation.  Something that I could not do!  So while I haven’t lost a lot of weight, I am building up my stamina and muscle as well.  The muscle will help me burn more calories and lose weight.

Dawn, the Biggest Loser Leader and owner of the Studio, has us using MyFitnessPal to keep track of our calories.  I have also been using it to track exercise.  Though you do want to have some sort of calorie burn counter as theirs isn’t always as accurate.

I also purchased a Fitbit, which arrives today.  It tracks steps, calories burned, consumed (if you have that set up), and more things that I have to discover how to use.

I am SO Excited about this new chapter in my life.  I am taking responsibility for my health!
